Ahmet Savaşan spoke on behalf of Northern Cyprus at the opening of Health Tourism Expo-Baku. In his speech, Savaşan said, “We will continue to work for the sustainable development of health tourism in the world.”.

Participating in the Baku Azerbaijan International Health Tourism Fair, B2B Seminar and Conference (Health Tourism Expo) organized with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, 7th Chairman of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) and MP, spoke at the opening ceremony of the organization.
Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, 7th President of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), MP, attended the International Health Tourism Fair, B2B Seminar and Conference in Baku, which brought together professionals from many countries operating in the field of health tourism, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Russia, Kuwait, Georgia, and especially Turkey, together with Secretary General Doğan Yalkı and made an opening speech.

In his speech, Savaşan emphasized that although the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was kept under unjust isolation for years and wanted to sever its ties with the world, it has managed to cooperate with more than a hundred countries of the world, especially Turkey and Azerbaijan, in tourism, education, health and many other fields. Ahmet Savaşan pointed out that after the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus became an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States, it had the opportunity to further its cooperation with Turkic States with the decisive contributions of Turkey and Azerbaijan, and thanked the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for creating this opportunity.

Stating that Northern Cyprus is making a name for itself more and more in health tourism with its modern medical facilities, specialty health services offered at high standards, specialist physicians and experienced healthcare professionals, Savaşan expressed his satisfaction for finding the opportunity to cooperate with the participating countries in selected fields within the scope of the Health Tourism Fair and Conference held in Baku.

Pointing out that the TRNC chaired the World Health Tourism Council for the period 2023-24 April and during this period, they saw health tourism not only as an economic opportunity, but also as a bridge that crosses borders, promoting intercultural understanding and peace, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said that as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, they worked sincerely and with great devotion to be a strong part of this bridge and contribute to the development of health tourism worldwide. Dr. Savaşan emphasized that with the same vision and sense of responsibility, they will sincerely support the work of Moldova, which has assumed the new term presidency of GHTC, and will contribute to the work to be done for the sustainable development of health tourism in the world.
